Hi there! I'm João Janeiro, a 25 years old multidisciplinary Graphic and Motion Designer based in Porto, Portugal. I have a deep passion for animation and absolutely love giving life to static assets. If it can move, I want to animate it! :D

My academic background, including a Master's in Graphic Design and Editorial Projects from the University of Porto (FBAUP), perfectly complements this drive. It provided me with a rigorous foundation in typography, visual layout and design and animation principles, which I now use to ground my motion work, ensuring that every animation is both dynamic and structurally sound.

What i have to offer

• Experience as a Freelance Motion & Graphic Designer for some clients such as University of Porto Rectorate and Rotaract Club, specializing in making the graphic design and animating it in motion for marketing campaigns, social media, and digital billboards, as making the publisher publications design and identity.
• Grounded in core animation principles (weight, timing, rhythm), I utilize After Effects, Premiere, Blender, Cavalry, and Animate to make my motions.
• Passionate about sharing expertise, I served as a Guest Instructor for Digital Animation at FBAUP (Faculty of Fine Artes of University of Porto), building upon my previous experience as a Visual Arts Teacher.
• I leverage my strong background in typography, branding, editorial design and illustration to ensure every motion piece flawlessly integrates into the broader visual identity.

Other experiences

When I'm not exploring new animation techniques, I apply my strategic and leadership skills to community building. I serve as the Vice President of the Rotaract Club of the University of Porto, where I co-lead the club's executive management, the social impact initiatives and the public image strategy. To complement my freelance work, I also spent a year teaching classes (2025–2026), an experience that greatly enriched my ability to connect with and guide others. Whether I'm participating in multicultural Erasmus+ projects across Europe as a Group Leader or exhibiting my illustration work, I am always searching fresh perspectives to fuel my creativity.
